Temporary Residence In Argentina

 The current migration legislation of Argentina provides for almost 14 legal grounds for obtaining the status of a temporary resident (permit) of this country.



So, in order. The following persons have the right to obtain a residence permit in Argentina: employees of Argentine companies, rentiers (description of the procedure for obtaining a residence permit Rante in Argentina), pensioners, investors, researchers and scientists, athletes and artists, clergy, hospital patients, university professors, students (the procedure for obtaining a residence permit for a student in Argentina), refugees (description of the procedure for obtaining a residence permit for refugees in Argentina), people who meet the criteria for "humanitarian emigration". In addition, Argentine residence permits can be obtained by citizens of other countries or stateless persons requested by the Argentine government, or minor children and spouses of temporary residents of Argentina.


Required Documents: 


For each of the 14 legal ways to obtain a residence permit in Argentina, there is a common set of documents that must be submitted to the migration service. Among them:


- An identity document. Usually this is your passport. It needs to be translated by an official translator in Argentina and certified by a collegium of translators.

— A certificate stating that you did not commit offenses in Argentina. With an accelerated call, you need to receive additionally, with the usual method of filing, you do not need to do anything, the migration service will require a certificate.

— Police clearance certificate from your country. It must be obtained before leaving Russia (not earlier than 90 days before departure).

- An entry stamp to Argentina. Confirmed at the time of submission of documents by selecting an option on the site.

- Certificate of residence in Argentina. It will be issued at the nearest police station. Or you can bring the Argentinean gas, water or electricity bill in your name. In my case, even rolled the bill for the Internet.

– Payment of the state duty (6000 + 300 pesos as of October 2022) through the RADEX system.

Special documents for obtaining a residence permit in Argentina

For each of the 14 grounds for obtaining a residence permit in Argentina, there is one special document (or several documents) that must be additionally submitted to the migration service with a common package of documents. For example, if you get a residence permit for a student in Argentina, then in addition to the general package, you submit a certificate from your educational institution. If you get a residence permit for an employee, then an employment contract. If you get a residence permit as a rentier in Argentina, then a document confirming income.
